¹ 139-FZ in September 2007. According to the document RUSNANO is an instrument of state
policy in the field of nanotechnology called to provide efficient functioning of nanotechnology
segment of the innovative economy in Russia.
The aim of RUSNANO is to assist to create industrial, technologic, financial, information, personnel
and expert-consulting nanoindustry infrastructure as well as developing regulatory basis of the
innovative economy.
RUSNANO has the following tasks: creating conditions for leading innovative development of
Russia, assistance in commercialization of perspective projects and solution of the problem of efficient
resource management. The main instrument providing the solution of these tasks is the assistance
in new investment projects appearance, where RUSNANO operates as co-investor.
At present RUSNANO has formed a system of project financing as well as a system of a solid
due diligence. Corporation has developed the technology of start-up phase, has established relationships
with promising nanotechnology centers in Russia and abroad, has signed agreements
on cooperation with the institutes of innovative development.
In April 2008 RUSNANO started accepting the applications for financing of nanotechnology
projects. Selection of projects proceeds within the framework of complex due diligence. The decision
for co-investing the project is taken after the confirmation of the scientific justifiability of the
project, its technical realizability and business efficiency.
It is expected that with the participation of RUSNANO by 2015 the share of national nanoindustry
enterprises at the world market will grow from today’s 0.07% to 3% in future. Herewith nanoindustry
production sales volume will increase up to 900 bln. rubles within the next 7 years.
In 2007 the Government of the Russian Federation has allocated 130 billion rubles (about $5
billion) for RUSNANO activity. Management body is Supervisory Council, Board of Directors
and Director General.
RUSNANO Director General is Anatoly Chubais.

«German Area Nanobooth»
Research in Germany Land of Ideas
Nearly all branches of German industry profit from developments in nano research. Applications
are found in the automotive sector, mechanical engineering, medical technology, chemical,
electronic and optical industries. But nanotechnology still has a wealth of innovative potential to
exploit.
With the «Nano Initiative – Action Plan 2010» the Federal Government has introduced a national
funding concept spanning all policy areas. Part of the High-Tech Strategy for Germany, the Nano
Initiative contributes to opening up new leading markets and creating optimum conditions for researchers
and entrepreneurs. Our target: to expedite the transformation of ideas into new, marketable
products, processes and services so that Germany can become one of the world’s most
research- and innovation friendly nations by 2020.
Today, more than 650 companies in Germany are already developing, using or selling their
nano products. Why don’t you profit from this excellent environment and make the most of your
opportunities in or together with Germany?

The Voronezh Region is part of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation and the second
largest region of the Central Federal District in terms of its territory, population, and economic
potential.
The existing potential cluster of high-technology production facilities including, among others,
those operating in the field of nanotechnology, joins fairly successful companies: the Financial
and Industrial Company «Space, Oil, and Gas», OAO RIF Corporation, OOO Comnet, Design
Bureau of Automatic Chemical Equipment (KBKhA), and the Research Institute of Semiconductor
Machine Building (NIIPM). There are 3 nanocenters and 2 technoparks operating, and over
20 projects being implemented in the field of nanotechnology; and an Inter-University Center for
Nanotechnology is in the process of organization.
Multi-format modular infrastructure for activities in the field of nanotechnology is being designed
and formed dynamically in the region, using the existing innovative activities infrastructure of the
region and the potential of companies and universities of the region.
